With my desire to go into disease research, I knew immunology would be invaluable for my success going forward in my field. The class itself was extremely memorization-heavy, but I always felt like I was memorizing important information, developing a basis for how cellular diseases may interact with the body's immune functions. I especially enjoyed the information near the end of the quarter, where we discussed autoimmunity as well as how the immune system can be engineered to fight diseases like cancer. While the sheer amount of information was daunting at times, I left the class with a much clearer picture of one of the most important systems I'll have to work with in my future career.
