Positions held: June-September 2017: Game Master January-May 2019: Hiring Manager (Downtown) September 2017-present: Location Manager (University District) |
Quest Factor is an expanding escape room company founded by two Russian immigrants who desired to bring the experience and quality of European escape rooms to the United States. I began working at their first location near the University of Washington during the summer of 2017. As the owners began opening new locations, I was asked to take over the management of the UW location, and of course I accepted. I have never looked back. The professional experience I have gained from hiring employees, solving customer problems, and developing innovations for both the rooms and the whole business has been an excellent experience, not to mention I just love escape rooms.
During the summer of 2018, the owners of Quest Factor, now with three locations and growing, decided to restructure the business so that each company was its own independent entity. Due to this, I took on much more responsibility, solely managing the Seattle location's budget, advertising, supplies, and everything else needed to run an independent business. I developed a marketing plan and collaborated with my employees to take ownership of the location and maintain profits and positive customer feedback. While I did not expect to get senior management-level experience in college, the skills I have gained from this transition have been invaluable, as has the satisfaction of watching my own business grow.
