I am a member of the Theta Xi (ΘΞ) chapter at the University of Washington. While I am not a typical "frat guy," I joined the fraternity for the community and opportunity it provides. Theta Xi is a completely dry house, meaning no substances are allowed on the property. This provides the unique distinction of a house centered solely around brotherhood and the improvement of its individuals. This has become a central part of my college experience, and I have gained an immense amount of leadership involvement from holding executive positions and managing aspects of the house.
At the end of 2018, I was elected President of the fraternity, one of the highest personal honors I have received. To be trusted with this responsibility by my friends and peers was and is daunting in a way, but I have been prepared to learn and grow in this role over course of 2019. The Theta Xi Presidency is certainly the culmination of my time and involvement at the fraternity, and I am glad to serve my fellow Brothers. |
