This was a unique math course because whereas most of the UW math classes each focus on the basics of one specific branch of mathematics, MATH 300 was applicable to and used examples from a variety of mathematical fields. Though the quarter started very tediously with integer-centric proofs where even algebra couldn't be used as justification, the ways of proving mathematical statements kept piling on until, at the end of the quarter, we were able to readily navigate some fairly hard to prove (and non-intuitive) assertions. I wish I had taken this class earlier because I know it will be helpful in thinking about a plethora of concepts in my future mathematics classes.
